Liverpool’s midfielder Alberto Aquilani has been ruled out of 
tomorrow’s UEFA European League clash due to leg quarter-final with Benfica. The Italian international has suffered an injury to the ankle in training this morning and will not fly with the team later in the match in Lisbon.
It does not seem too serious, but ankle same as before and so we have to analyze the situation carefully.

Aquilani came the summer after a £ 17million transfer from Rome, carrying an ankle injury in which they sideilned for the second stage of the 2008/09 Serie A season. Midfielder Sebastian Leto spent last season on loan with Olympiakos Pireu.
Sebastian Leto began his career in 2005 in his native Argentina, with Lanus, based in Buenos Aires.
Sebastian Leto made over 50 appearances there, scoring eight goals before leaving for Liverpool.

Guus Hiddink Will Leave Chelsea At The End Of The Season

Hiddink was appointed coach in February following the dismissal of Luiz Felipe Scolari and has suffered just one defeat in 11 games.
Chairman Bruce Buck said: “It is purely a temporary role,”, “There has been a lot of speculation about him staying, particularly as he has been doing a great job. That will not be the case.”

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009Steven Gerrard scored a hat trick as Liverpool thrashed visiting Aston Villa 5-0 on Sunday.
In Premier League, Manchester United tops the standings with 65 points, followed by Liverpool at 64 and Chelsea.
Steven Gerrard said: “It’s more than we expected,” Gerrard said. “Villa are a fantastic team and have been going well this season.”
Dirk Kuyt took just eight minutes to score against Aston Villa, then Albert Riera scored the second goal in the 33th minute.
In the 39th minute Steven Gerard scored again from penaty.
Steve Gerrard struck the resulting free kick low into the bottom corner of Friedel’s net, in the second half(50th minute).
Liverpool crush Aston Villa when Fernando Torres as he surged forward to meet Alonso’s ball and Gerrard dispatched another penalty in the 65th, and he score.

Rafael Benitez said on Liverpool Web site: “My heart is with Liverpool Football Club, so I’m delighted to sign this new deal,”, “I love the club, the fans and the city and with a club like this and supporters like this, I could never say no to staying.”
Rafael Benitez signed with Liverpool in 2004 when he come from Valencia.

The win cuts Manchester United’s lead over Liverpool to four points, although the defending champions still have a game in hand.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored from the penalty spot in the 23rd minute to put the hosts ahead, but Liverpool’s Fernando Torres answered right back five minutes later and Steven Gerrard scored again in the next minutes.
Fabio Aurelio scored in 77th minute when he shot inside the near post, leaving goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar no chance.
Andrea Dossena then capped the scoring shortly before in90th minute.

David Nogog score in 52th minute and Yossy Benayoun scored in 65th minute for Liverpool 2-0 home victory over Sunderland.
The victories lifted Chelsea and Liverpool to 58 points, four fewer than Manchester United.
Guss Hiddink said: “When you’re chasing as we are, it’s good to keep the pressure on”.
Yossy Benayoun said:“It was important to come back to our winning ways”.
Also last night’s other match, Arsenal ended a run of four straight scoreless draws in the league with a 3-1 win at last place from Premier League West Bromwich.
