PostHeaderIcon Arsene Wenger promises that Arsenal will give all the best to twist the result against Bayern

Arsene Wenger was very upbeat and had high hopes before the Tuesday’s night Champions League game, but Bayern did show at the Emirates Stadium and won 3-1. At end of the match, the Londoners’ tactician could not hide his disappointment, but said that his team will try to return the result in the return leg at the Allianz Arena.

“We played against a very good team that took advantage of all the opportunities they had in the first half. Then we were a little nervous. At 0-2, we fought and we were pretty close to equal. The goal for 3-1 was a hard blow and last ten minutes were difficult.” Read the rest of this entry »

PostHeaderIcon Before the start of the Champions League, Montpellier’s players are dismantled

Before the UEFA Champions League debut against Arsenal, Montpellier’s players are mentally tear down by poor start to the season. The joy of winning the title in Ligue 1 last season was too short for the French team. In less than three months, the euphoria has been replaced by fear and despair after Rene Girard’s players have won a single match in the first five stages of the season, and their 16th current spot in the rankings not give them too much hope. President Louis Nicollin reacted harshly, criticizing his players by his already familiar style: “They’re bastards, they have not played anything since they won the title.” Thus, champion’s morale is becoming less before the start in the Champions League, which will take place this evening, against the team led by Arsene Wenger. PostHeaderIcon Marseille dream of first trophy after 17 years

Fight for the Ligue 1 title, but until then faces tonight on the “Stade de France in the last act of the League Cup, broadcast live from 21:50 pm to Boom Sport Two. Marseille play in the first final, while Bordeaux is the holder of the trophy and wants to win for the fourth time, after previous successes in 2002, 2007 and 2009.
Will be a very interesting duel between two young French engineers. Didier Deschamps and Laurent Blanc were European champions in 1994 and in 2000 and retired with even the arena where the grand final takes place tonight. If Blanc thinks to spare some owners to duel with Lyon in the round “quarters” Champions League, Deschamps will count on the best formula to bring the Marseille first trophy after a break of 17 years Luga, ie from won the European Cup final against AC Milan.

PostHeaderIcon Teams From England Leaders In The Champions League

English football hopes that the four Premier League clubs Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea or Arsenal who have made it to the quarterfinal draw will avoid each other on Friday and maybe all make it to the semifinals.

Defending champion Manchester United and Barcelona go into the draw as the bookmakers’ joint favorites at 5-2.

Both teams are in first rank of Premier League and respectively in Primera Division.

In my opinion Liverpool could be the surprise this edition of Champions League, considering the latest results that they had against Manchester United at Old Traford (4-1) and Real Madrid in the Champions League with the final outcome in both games (4-0!).

Steven Gerrard said.”We are not running scared of anybody. We will take who we get, and believe that we are going to go through,”, “If you are asking me about a fear factor in the Champions League, then I think it is the other seven teams in the draw who are going to have concerns about coming up against us after that Real Madrid result.”

Manchester United ousted Italian champion Inter Milan in the previous round and Chelsea knocked out Juventus which means there are no Italian sides left in the competition.

Porto and Villarreal are the outsiders of the eight, who are made up of five winners, two runners up and a semifinalist.

The first legs of the quarterfinals on Champions League are April 7-8 and the returns are April 14-15.

PostHeaderIcon Champions League : Inter Milan – Manchester United

Jose Mourinho claims that he was happy to play against Manchester United in the Round of 16.

Jose Mourinho while it has been the coach of Chelsea had a lot of success against Manchester United, defeating them five times in 9 career meetings in Premier League, including a 1-0 triumph in the 2007 F.A. Cup Final.

Manchester United will probably start the match 4-5-1 that served them well last season.

While Inter Milan will probably start in attack with Adriano and Zlatan Ibrahimović.
Of course will be a spectacular game and we fans just waiting to see a match of the Champions League after a break so long.
